Live machining with WorkNC Dental formed part of the opening ceremony for milling machine manufacturer Datron AG’s French subsidiary, in Pringy.

Bruno Manière, General Manager of the new operation, invited WorkNC Dental Business Manager Laurent Journeau to deliver a presentation at the official opening.

Datron and WorkNC Dental have been business partners since 2010, with Datron always proposing the WorkNC Dental CAD/CAM solution to customers wanting machines for implant milling, custom abutments bar and bridges.

Laurent Journeau explained how WorkNC Dental is an open dental manufacturing system, incorporating the industry’s best practices, and the ease with which it creates a prosthesis on the Datron D5 and other Datron dental milling machines.

He described the range of WorkNC Dental’s specific implant processes, including:

Implant prosthetics – the implant module mills implant prosthetics from direct implants to preforms or Ti base components
Direct implant connection milling – milling of abutments and custom abutments from bar or disc process in Titanium, Cobalt Chrome and all types of soft material
Implant bar and bridge – a wide range of recognition functions for the best implant position and orientation
Premilled parts – milling a variety of perform parts using single or multi-position clamping systems.

The presentation ended with a practical demonstration – live machining of parts based on customers’ existing files.

The Datron D5 is a high-performance milling and grinding machine built specifically for the dental industry, for manufacturing dental restorations including crowns, bridges, inlays, abutments, telescopes, models and implant-supported work.

Dedicated WorkNC Dental 5-axis templates have been created for optimum machining time and prolonging the life of cutting tools on the 5-axis Datron D5 machine tool. This template package gives the fastest automation for machining the entire undercut area. WorkNC Dental’s new implant module extends the custom abutment milling capability with a fully automated process based on the integrated implant connection CAM database.
